We've all seen the meme. How better to succinctly over-express in GIF-form your annoyance at the latest pop hit or your hatred of Mondays? But do you know its origins?

It's the literally-explosive opening to David Cronenberg's 1981 dueling psychics sci-fi thriller Scanners.
